INTENDED USE
The selective Wallerstein Laboratory nutrient agar plate is intended for the detection of yeasts and molds that contaminate production processes or industrial fermentation processes in the beverage industry, for example. The product contains a high content of fermentable carbohydrates and a bromocresol pH indicator, which provides information on the carbohydrate utilization of fungi. The product is a ready-to-use medium for professional use.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE PRODUCT
WLNA+CH is a selective and nutrient-rich growth medium. The selectivity of the product is based on the chloramphenicol added to the plate, which inhibits the growth of a broad spectrum of bacteria on the plate. The main nutrient of the plate is dextrose, which releases a high content of fermentable carbohydrates. The yeast extract in the plate provides, among other things, a source of carbohydrates, amino acids and B vitamins. In addition, various salts have been added to the plate, which release ions that are essential for microbial metabolism. Bromocresol green acts as a pH indicator on the plate.
